hello, everybody
I am new on this forum, so let me tell you my story, regarding hairloss and my way to fight against.
At the age of 18, I realized a steadily increase of hair, falling out during hairwash and combing.
I went to a doctor, who only recommended vitamin tablets. Nevertheless he said that it is genetic caused and no doctor can really do something. So I take my burden and saw fading my hairline and also my self confidence. That time I already heard about hair transplantation, but in TV magazines in the 80th they warn and also showed some pictures of guys that look horrible. So I wait and wait and hoped that somebody finds a drug against hairloss and my second hope was, that there will be a great development in HT. It took a long time, that surgeons are now able to transplant micrografts, so they can create a natural look. So in 2004 I came to the point to not wait any longer and start the research of "where is the best surgeon for HT in the world?". I had a look into the internet and read a lot about this. At the end of my research I came to the conclusion that the Armani clinic in Toronto is "the best" or "one of the best". So I made an appointment for my first surgery. Because I always want my hair long, I saw no problem reagarding the scar. On the other hand, I thought, the strip surgery (fuss) has a lower price. So I took my decision.
So Dr. Armani gave me a new hairline in August 2004 with more than 3000 grafts. It already changed my appearance so much, that I couldnt believe it.
As a had already lost to many hairs in zone 1 and 2 and also in zone 4 and thinning in zone 3, they honestly told me, that there will be more than 1 surgery necessary, to get a full head of hair. So in May 2006 I came a second time to Toronto, to improve zone 2,the transition area between my new hairline and the old hair(2000 grafts).
In May 2008 I come a 3rd time to Toronto, to improve the density in zone 1 and 2 with 3000 grafts. This time, I decided to take FUE HT, because it is much better for the body and the recreation time after surgery..(and also not so bloody). At the end of the year 2008, I looked nearly like I would never have lost my hair, if somebody saw me from the front side. Only the crown was my last problem area, where someone going behind me, could see my skin of the head. So I made another appointment with Dr. Armani, to close also that last problem zone. That was on the 2nd of June 2009, a few weeks ago. I always connected the appointments with some days of sightseeing in Toronto, CN Tower, Niagara Falls and so on. It was a very nice time there in Canada.
As I saw, that my decision was right and that I am in very good hands, I would never have changed the clinic, not for a lot of money. So I went 4times from Munich in Germany to Toronto in Canada. I will post you some photos, so you can see my way and judge my transformation. So at last I have got roundabout 10000 grafts in total.
Now I have to wait patiently, that the hair will grow again. But I say, it was worth every effort I made.

Hi Ernst.

Thanks for sharing your hairtransplant story.  I'm sure it will benifit alot of people in similar positions.  There are alot of skeptics out there regarding what can be achieved.  You are living proof of what someone with a quite large amount of hairloss can hope to achieve.  An awsome natural looking head of hair in my opinion.  Good luck with the future growth and look forward to future updates from you.

10,000 grafts is one heck of an achievement, and probably a pretty penny, but this has to be one of the best results I've ever seen...
