It seems none of the other top doctors use Minox postop and they all claim
that IT WILL not make the new grafts grow any faster. There was even a study to prove this and it was found that patients that used MInox postop DID NOT experience faster or additional growth compared to those that didn't use MINOX.

| dali999 all dr armani's post op instruction are alot different than many surgeons but maybe that is why he is getting the best results and why you and i both decided to go with him. if he wants me to stand on my head for an hour a day i would do it to get the results i've seen. we just have to trust in his post op instructions at this point and remember he had been doing this for a long time.

| Minox helps bring blood flow to the newly transplanted grafts, this helps produce better yield and in many cases helps the transplanted grafts come out of the redting phase quicker producing faster growth.

If Minox produces better yield... does that mean all the other top doctors that do not use Minox in their postop instructions are not achieving the maximum yield they could?
if that was a fact, wouldn't all the doctors be recommending it?

| I am not going to speak to what other doctors do or do not do. Dr. Armani has been doing procedures for many years with great results, and a lot of research has gone in to providing the best post op instructions possible to provide the best environment for growth. I suggest you follow the post op instruction sheet you were given for maximum growth.

That is exactly what I am doing. Following his postop instructions letter by letter.
But look at Dr. Rassman mentions in his blog:
I did a study some years ago where I used minoxidil on 1/3d of the transplants and on the other 2/3rds I did not. I maintained the treatment for the entire growth period for the hair transplants (6-8 months) and noted:
That both sides grew in at the exact same rate
That both sides started growing at the exact same time
I never published the study because the doctor who was doing this with me was a bit sloppy in his record keeping and I was not surprised at the outcome. I was able to conclude, however, that minoxidil has no effect on transplanted hair.
--------
I am just a bit confused, that is all. Dr. Rassman is a respectable Dr. as well.

I am just a bit confused, that is all. Dr. Rassman is a respectable Dr. as well.So Dr. Rassman came up with a conclusion using ONE patient, are you serious?? That cannot even be considered a study. Where is the focus group. How about 100 - 200 patients then I might consider this. One patient?? Not to mention he admittedly said the record keeping was sloppy.

| Everybody have their own points.Heres mine >> I would use it anyway because the worst case is that it may not help you regrow faster. It won't be harming you in ur regrowth, right??Otherwise all through out I would be thinking about it for not using that option. If it works ,well and good!!

| I have found that every doctor has different post op instructions, when you choose your doctor to do your procedure you are doing so because you like their results and should follow your doctorsd post op instructions the best you can. It is all part of it I think.

I can tell you from personal experience, Dr. Armani's post op instructions are far more effective as well as beneficial to the transplanted hair. I underwent a FUSS procedure before my Dr. Armani FUE procedure, and the post op instructions with that surgeon were not nearly as meticulous, nor concerned with giving the grafts proper healing time as Dr. Armani's instructions are. The FUSS surgeon didn't recommend using minoxidil, he only gave me graftcyte. I still use the minoxidil on my Armani transplanted area to this day. It has helped with both growth, as well as densification of my grafts. Hope that helps.

| Hey, I was told that Rogaine helped to produce better blood flow to the transplanted hair. Does anyone know if Propecia can be used in place of Rogaine or if it has to be used in combination? I am tired of using the Rogaine foam...lol. Gabriel

Minox has caused hair growth on my nose. No joke. On top of the actual nose I see 3 to 4 short ( 1-2 mm ) but black thick hairs....also around my eyes.
scary

| on your nose? LOL... it has causes me more hair to grow on my temples, which is good. But around the eyes as well, which is easily removed, but make sure you do not shave that unwanted hair, otherwise it will grow back thicker and stronger. Except for that I did not really notice any further growth from taking Minoxidil but I follow the post-op instructions very precisely since I want to achieve maximum results and growth. The clinic recommends to use if for one year twice a day, and for a second year once a day. I see much better results with Propecia and even some regrowth in the crown, with stronger and fuller hair overall. Chris

I'm going to have to agree with keeping the minox on post-op. I think it definitely helps.
