so by the postop instructions we can wear a lose hat that is not too tight and that doesnt touch the scalp after 30 days. There is no way ANY kind of hat will not touch the scalp, specially the temples which create the angles with the hairline.

My question is....when can we wear a hat/cap ( not tight but a good fit )
more carelessly without having to be extra careful. In other words, as if you had nothing done. Why can't a hat touch the implanted area months after the procedure? heat? sweat?

If it is a stupid question I apologize but I am just trying to be as careful and realistic as possible.

I wore a normal ballcap after 2 weeks.. mostly because I had to go out to university and to work and interact with the world.

I was able to wear a hat that did not sit on the hairline very much at all, i kind of had the bill pointing a bit up and the hat mostly sitting on my crown. At 30 days it is ok anyhow, at that point you can scrub the grafts and are backk to your normal showering routine, i just wouldnt pull the hat down too too tight.

thanks, that helped. I was concern about heat or sweating, etc. It seems that as long as the hat fits normally we are ok?

You mention that your hat didn't touch your hairline area but in my case there was work done in the temples so that area will be in contact with whatever hat I wear.

If after 30 days that is fine then im cool.

Like Eric stated before, after 30 days post op I wore a hat. I was still attending my university at the time and I also managed to put my hat more on my crown area facing upward if that makes sense. Regardless it wasn't detrimental towards my results whatsoever. After 30 days you should be good.

I wear a very light baseball cap with a thin material (minimum weight) 1 day after every surgery for 3 month. As I came home I always put a side the baseball cap, so that the sweat could dry and that there comes enough air to the skin, also for healing process. Normally the baseball cap sits on the forehead and not at the front hairline. By now I had 4 HT and I had no problem with using my cap.
